Hey Everybody,
Wow!..what a week! We started back to school on Monday and then the Artic cold came swooping down into the south! Brrr we were delayed for two days and then back on track with three days of solid rain!! We made it through all in one piece. We were busy, busy all week. I’m going to share some photo highlights from our week!
The kinders have been learning about non-standard measurement. (K.MD.1) I love teaching measurement. There are so many possibilities.
You can learn more about Kim Sutton and Do the Math here. There are also some free handouts if you sign to get email.
You can view the game here.
Our class has one of the big bulletin boards in the hallway this month. We are using the book Snowmen at Night for inspiration! The children drew their snowmen on black construction paper. They has to press really hard. They did a great job! They also helped to stamp the snowflakes on the background. The first graders will add their snowmen soon.
I hope you enjoyed getting a peak into our busy week. The first graders are working on a close reading activity that I will share in the next photo highlights edition from Kindergarten and First Grade!
All the best,
Sarah
